Hi there! Have you had the chance to catch Another Oh Hae Young? I’m loving the directing and cast. And as an unintended bonus- not revenge plot in sight ( but it’s still early)

No. It wasn’t something I planned to watch and so I haven’t, nor do I really plan to. I’ve (more than) enough dramas on my plate – in fact I had to make the decision of what to drop because there’s just not enough time for everything. There are too many other more interesting upcoming dramas I’d rather spend time on right now. But lots of people seem to really enjoy it, and I trust them – but probably still won’t watch it.

For the record, I don’t watch a lot of good and beloved dramas. It’s impossible to keep up with everything, so I try to limit myself to the things that I really want to watch (no matter how good or terrible or dumb) and not what I think I ought to watch. Honestly, that’s something I feel like everyone should follow, and to anyone who’s like “I don’t know if this show OD is prattling on about is something I want to watch but she doesn’t shut up about it so maybe I should?” – dude, no. Ignore me. I’m easily excitable. You just keep on doing what you want because Dramaland provides for all tastes and appetites.

OK sounds fun! It sounds like you work in hospitality from your posts. How did you end up there? What’s your favorite customer story?

I decided to back to school and wanted a job that would give me flexibility for my classes, and figured the night owl in me wouldn’t mind working overnight. Hotels are always desperate for night auditors ‘cause of the awful hours, so it was easy to find a job. Even after I realized that an expensive vanity grad school degree wasn’t for me, I stuck around because I didn’t mind the work – it was better than the office stuff I’d been doing before, plus I often had a ton of time to do whatever the heck I wanted (aka watch dramas). I’m not long on night audit but I’m still in the hospitality biz – this time with animals as guests instead of humans.

My most memorable guest story is probably the naked bride. There was also the time I busted a sweet sixteen party.

But my favorite guest was one of our regulars who had a couple of “comfort” dogs. They were trained service dogs and he’d go all around the country to places that had had tragic events and go to hospitals/etc to visit victims with his dogs. Their main ability was to just, like, gently lean into you and love you with all their adorable doggy hearts, and after the chaos some of those nights would bring, it would totally make my morning to see him on his way through the lobby with his boys, who were always excited to see me and share their doggy comfort.

Although to be honest my favorite part of working audit was all the cool peeps in the NA tag. You know who you are! *waves to the NA brigade* Quite a few of us are now just honorary members of the NA brigade, but I’ll always remember the hell we went through together, united through this weird blue website even as we sat lonely in our lobbies, trying to fend of the weird and crazy and drunk guests that would attempt to invade our space.

(PS – pssssst @kohlel @mymindsecho do you remember this? I found it when I was going through the tag to find my naked bride story, and I had to laugh. I’ve got official experience now, if we ever decide to open up our own pet hotel!)

Oh, and I just always seem to assume that most people have been following me a while and are used to my quirks’n’whatnot, but if any of you new folk (or old folk who are just like “I don’t get it but i just go with it”) have ever wondered “yo what’s up with _____” about anything I post, feel free to ask.

Not that I think what I post is exactly mysterious, but I’m pretty sure I’ve fooled at least one person into thinking I was an Infinite-centric blog.

Upcoming drama W wasn’t really on my radar (although casting Han Hyo Joo certainly got my attention!), but since everyone’s favorite stoic bodyguard has signed on to the project, I’m suddenly onboard.

I wonder if it’s some kinda contractual clause he’s got going on with Kang Ki Young, because this will be their third drama together (High School King of Conduct, Come Back Ahjussi) and I’m already assuming Kang Ki Young will play a chef because by now I can’t imagine him in any other role.

Lee Tae Hwan will be reprising his role as bodyguard (to Lee Jong Suk this time), but let’s hope this role will somehow magically be less stoic and more smiley.

It’s been an hour and I’m still so angry about IG’s new non-chrono feed.

Someone send me pictures of cute puppies or bats or something so I can clear my head.

Gaeko (Dynamic Duo) – “Send Me Your Pictures” (Entertainer OST)

Speaking of Vampire Prosecutor, the screenwriter of those shows will be coming back with Squad 38, which will premiere after Vampire Detective wraps up. It stars Seo In Guk, Ma Dong Seok, and SNSD’s Sooyoung as part of a task force that uses the bad guys’ own tricks to catch them in tax fraud.

The teasers so far are pretty slick (as we’ve come to expect from OCN):

Teaser #1

Teaser #2

The last time this screenwriter and director (and Ma Dong Seok, for that matter) worked together was on OCN’s Bad Guys, which I feel should probably give us a hint of what kind of drama to expect – although perhaps it won’t be quite as bloody? At any rate, even though the premise may be working with the dull-sounding “tax fraud” devision, there should be lots of stylish action to keep us entertained for the summer.

I was kind of already freaking out that we brought back Dr. Sexy Barkeep, but then the show had to go and add that line and officially make me lose my mind.

Now I’ve got the blind hope that the show will end with San deciding to look for Min Tae Yeon, further indulging my delusion that we’ll finally have that once-promised season 3 of Vampire Prosecutor.
