I feel you, although I’m not really in a slump so much as I have no time to check everything out. But I’m pretty sure most of 2015 was a slump-year for me, so I’m sorry if this will be your slump year, too. I don’t know what to say except maybe revisit some old faves (rewatching Hanadan was such a breath of fresh air and reminded me why I got into dramas in the first place) or just take a break.
Dramas will always be there. There will always be more dramas to pick up the slack, and if you wait long enough, everyone else will weed out the wheat from the chaff and you can pick only the “good” ones to watch without wasting your time with something that goes sour in the end. At least, that’s my philosophy. :p
As an aside and not to pressure you into watching it, I’m totally enjoying Remember, as ridiculous as it is. I’m a sucker for anything that looks like it was lovingly created (*cries over the camera work*) and as ridiculous as the plot is, there’s enough going on that it keeps my short-attention span focused. It’s not everyone’s taste though, and I can respect that. For a drama that I didn’t originally choose to watch, it’s been worth it so far.
The Bumblebee bat, (or Kitti’s Hog Nosed Bat as it is also known as) the world’s smallest bat and is also the worlds smallest mammal. These cute little creatures are just 29 – 33mm in length, and have a wingspan of approximately 170mm and weigh a tiny amount of 2 grams. (Source)
Hanging out on the computer while I eat dinner (chilaquiles, my go-to dish of deliciousness that I finally ended up having all the components so it’s extra yummy, instead of being a sad plate of half-forgotten leftovers – cheese makes everything better, tho).
Which means I’ll catch any messages/asks/etc as they’re posted, so if anyone has burning questions or idle comments that they don’t want to wither away in the mobile-wasteland (’cause I don’t see them when I use the app), have at!
Fun fact: the original title of the show was going to be Monster. As in, “are monsters born or made?”
As Moo Yul said at the beginning of the show (and each episode), this was the story of how he became a monster in order to defeat a monster. That’s the “game” (really, psychological experiment) the doctor won, or believed he won. Yoon Su might have opted out of the experiment by choosing a different path, but the other students had to tap into their inner monster and destroy someone outside of of the law in order to better their lives.
I believe that’s the generally accepted viewpoint, although as I said, it’s ambiguous enough that you can start up a whole new debate about who was the “true” monster or if the doctor really won or if it was just hubris or what. Which, I guess, is another way the doctor kinda won, since that’s the conversation he wanted to have in the first place.
I did a quick search to figure out what ‘87ers will be likely to leave us this year, and was shocked to discover that Daniel Choi (’86) already enlisted in October. Well, I guess I won’t be wondering where he is for the next ~22 months.
Park Ki Woong has signed on with Haewadal Entertainment, the agency founded by Ha Ji Won (and which consisted of only herself until now). He will be discharged from the army on February 7, and we’re looking forward to see how he’ll settle in with his new agency!
