I keep telling myself I’ll get around to watching it, but I said the same thing with Mrs. Cop and My Beautiful Bride, and I still haven’t watched those >.<

Don’t feel bad! The nice thing about dramas is that they’re always there for when you finally decide you’re in the mood to watch them, be it months or years later. Or even never. :p

I think I personally prefer marathoning older dramas that no one is currently watching because it’s like this little bubble of “just me and the drama” and I don’t have to think about outside input. Or deal with drama about the drama. If that makes sense.

For example, I’ll probably watch R88, but probably not for a few months, or even this year. I’m happy for all the gnashing of teeth over who’s the husband to die down and everyone forgets about it, so then I can just watch it with no stress. Sometimes the more hype a drama gets, the less I want to watch because there’s this bizarre stigma I place on myself about how I ought to react to the show versus how I intrinsically feel about it.

…I’m a very selfish drama watcher, apparently…

I feel like I’m in a bit of a slump with dramas. Reply 1988 only has 2 eps left, I put SFD on hold cause I’m not feeling the political saeguk stuff (not my fave genre). Not sure how I feel about CitT, and I have yet to start Remember or Moorim.

I feel you, although I’m not really in a slump so much as I have no time to check everything out. But I’m pretty sure most of 2015 was a slump-year for me, so I’m sorry if this will be your slump year, too. I don’t know what to say except maybe revisit some old faves (rewatching Hanadan was such a breath of fresh air and reminded me why I got into dramas in the first place) or just take a break.

Dramas will always be there. There will always be more dramas to pick up the slack, and if you wait long enough, everyone else will weed out the wheat from the chaff and you can pick only the “good” ones to watch without wasting your time with something that goes sour in the end. At least, that’s my philosophy. :p

As an aside and not to pressure you into watching it, I’m totally enjoying Remember, as ridiculous as it is. I’m a sucker for anything that looks like it was lovingly created (*cries over the camera work*) and as ridiculous as the plot is, there’s enough going on that it keeps my short-attention span focused. It’s not everyone’s taste though, and I can respect that. For a drama that I didn’t originally choose to watch, it’s been worth it so far.

If you’re interested in a Jdrama, The Memorandom of Okitegami Kyoko was good. Each episode is it’s own little separate story, but the whole drama is still connected. It was cute, and had an entertaining story.

Yay, I always love jdrama recs, since I don’t keep up with that genre as much, but I really love most of the jdramas I watch.

What are your favorite and least favorite dramas and kpop songs of the year?

Gonna make this a “five things” just for some structure:

Favorite dramas:

  1. Valid Love
  2. My Beautiful Bride
  3. Last
  4. Midnight Diner
  5. Ex-Girlfriend Club

Least favorite dramas:

  1. Masked Prosecutor
  2. Producer
  3. Hyde, Jekyll, Me
  4. D-Day
  5. Let’s Eat 2

As for k-pop songs, I didn’t really pay attention to groups except the ones I already like, so instead I’ll just make a quick list of the 10 songs that were my favorite since I’d have to think really hard about the ones I didn’t like (since I wouldn’t play them and thus, don’t remember them):

  1. miss A – “Love Song
  2. FTISLAND – “Pray
  3. MFTBY – “Rebel Music
  4. Zion.T – “No Make Up
  5. Wonder Girls – “One Black Night
  6. Big Bang – “We Like 2 Party” (tbh all of BB’s songs but I’m trying to restrict myself to just one song per group and this was my summer jam)
  7. MBLAQ – “Mirror
  8. Infinite H – “As Long As You’re Not Crazy
  9. Jonghyun – “Hallelujah
  10. Amber – “Beautiful

Yeah there really isn’t anything else too interesting showing right now then. I plan on checking oh my venus and awl, but I don’t have any wxpectations for them.

I’ve been downloading Awl too but I’m also going to be three weeks behind on SFD that I haven’t bothered with it yet. I have priorities and they are the mane’o’glory. Also when I’m ambivalent about a lead actor it always takes a little more effort to go into a show, even if the plot interests me.

Not going to even try with Oh My Venus because, as much I adore Shin Min Ah, I don’t think I’d like it over all. Sounds like it’d be a cute idea for a film, though, but not a full drama. I did see some gifsets with Henry, though, and I was sorely tempted to check it out because, even though I assume his role is minor, he just makes me so dang happy whenever I see him in something.

Reply 1988 it’s pretty good so far. The who is my husband thing isn’t too in your face. Can’t remember if you were checking out The Village, but if you’re able to stomach with the transphobic treatment of a character, the story itself is interesting.

I’ve downloaded the eps of 1988 as they pop up on tosarang, but refuse to watch them until the show is completed because I very much do not care that they’ve regurgitated the “who’s the husband” ploy (however low-key it may be) and will only watch once that nonsense is out of the way so I can enjoy the side characters (since if this is anything like 1994, that’s all I’ll really care about, any way).

I also refuse to watch The Village out of ridiculous and childish fangirl spite.

Do you have new xkit yet? They haven’t solved the reply issue or anything, but I know the old xkit one has died.

Yeah, I have the new xkit, which is probably (or mainly) the reason I still hang out here because if I didn’t find a way to get rid of the new comment format, I would have likely bailed or actively avoided the site unless absolutely necessary.

The problem, though, is where would I bail to? I like the concept of tumblr as a blogging platform but the logistics are a nightmare. Plus I’d miss all of you! ^_^

I want a lovely bromance to blossom from those two, but I doubt it’ll happen since they both like Hye Jin. Maybe in the end? I can hope.

My headcanon since ep 2 is that Siwon’s character is bi. So it can totally happen.
