This ep of Bubblegum has absolutely no Jung Ryeo Won (or Kang Dong Wook, or any of the supporting cast we’ve come to love), yet it was absolutely delightful, beautiful, and bittersweet to see all the bits of flashbacks come together in a cohesive narrative.

I said it before – I didn’t sign up for such a deeply heart-felt drama about the pain of losing someone (or your memories), but it’s so richly and wonderfully composed that I still can’t help but love it. No matter how much my heart hurts.

Another difficult episode in terms of heavy-weight emotion to deal with, but I do really love the beautiful and elegant use of cinematography to convey what is going in Ri Hwan’s mother’s mind as dementia gradually takes over.

So heart-breaking, but such a lovely use of artistic camera work and techniques.
