Trying to give Busted! a chance because it’s been months since I’ve watched any k-variety. I figured it’d be like Running Man meets Crime Scene and that’s essentially what it is.

I really enjoyed the first ep but ep two changed format slightly, and was just okay. Now I’m halfway through ep 3 and impatiently waiting for things to happen. I don’t know who the editor is on this show but they are nowhere near the level I’ve come to expect from variety shows (or maybe I’m just too spoiled by Na PD and his team).

Plus there’s a lot of in-jokey stuff about Kwang-soo that won’t make any sense unless you’re familiar with his variety persona. So that feels like an odd choice to unleash on a Netflix show since presumably any random person who randomly stumbles on the show won’t know about the Prince of Asia, creaky dance, giraffe, etc.

Then again, apparently what I enjoy most out of variety shows isn’t all the scripted stuff, but the ridiculous tasks people have to do. Who cares about a boring mystery – bring back the Running Man meets The Crystal Maze tasks!
