Time for Replies (6) – Reincarnations

jkdramaniac:

This post refers to my Delusions, Confusions post from before.

Is Sunny the reincarnation of the Queen and is the Grim Reaper the
reincarnation of the King? Or if it’s the other way around, then what
kind of sin did the Queen commit, that she was turned into a Grim Reaper
and had to forget all her memories?

@brainlessoutofdate

i don’t think sunny is the king’s reincarnation, unless she did some huge sin they didn’t tell us about before ?

Same. But I really WANT her to be the king’s reincarnation. lol There are hints to lead to that conclusion (at least for me).

  • They had this convo about the reincarnation of the King and hinting that it could be either be a man OR a woman.
  • I think @obsessivedilettante meantioned that “Yeo Wang” means Queen and another post here on tumblr says that at one point in the development process of Goblin, they called the Grim Reaper “Wang Yeo” in the synopsis.
  • There might be more to what happened in the past between the King/Queen/Kim Shin. Some tumblr users think that the Lady in Red referred to both Sunny and Grim Reaper while talking about sins and a price they have to pay (ep 3). Maybe the Queen actually betrayed Kim Shin or/and the King in some kind of way? Because she was not hesitant at all to get killed (ep 1) maybe because she thought she deserved it for whatever she did? (I was actually really baffled that moment, that she was so easily willing to give up her life for Kim Shin, even if they probably are sister/brother.) Another thing, that leads me to believe that: ET asks why the sword is stuck there and who did that to him and Goblin answers “Someone who I never thought would do such a thing did it.” (ep 4) Yes sure, I know his fellow soldier did it. And I know it’s because the King wanted Kim Shin dead. But I just have the feeling that there’s more to it and maybe the Queen is involved in all this traitor story maybe? So that basically whatever the Queen did lead to the sword ending up in his chest??? Is that too far-fetched? lol

But at the same time there are (maybe even more?) hints that the Grim Reaper is the reincarnation of the King (e.g. Sunny saying she’d prefer a king on a white horse, ep 4). So idk, we’ll have to see. But as long as it’s not confirmed, I will keep having my hopes up to Sunny being the king’s reincarnation. 😛

Oh hey yeah that was me with the “yeo wang” means “queen” because I saw someone making the “wang” is “king” argument (and the Reaper’s name in the drama is Wang Yeo).

The best part of these kinds of dramas is the fun of speculation (I’ve got at least a dozen of ‘em, but Reaper as queen is my pet theory).

As for Sunny, I’d love her to be king just for the parallelism. I could probably come up with convincing arguments if need be.
