I’m glad you’re enjoying it! And I fully plan to watch it, but I can only live-watch one or two dramas at a time, unless I want to leave partially-watched dramas scattered in my easily distracted wake. For dramas I want to watch and actually finish it’s best I wait until they’re completed because I rarely lose momentum when binging.

I was feeling all proud and self-congratulatory that I’ve kept to my promise to only start one new drama during the premiere hell week, thus showing self-restraint of the highest order.
Until I remembered that (a) we’re still only a little over halfway through the premieres; (b) I haven’t found subs for Avengers Social Club and will likely break down over the weekend and watch it raw anyway because I need to see my queens Lee Yo Won and Ra Mi Ran; ( c) the weekend dramas were the most appealing to me anyway after the Weds/Thurs shows; (d) I literally spent 20 hours watching a drama over the past three days; therefore I am (e) a total hypocrite.
Decisions!
I have a week off of recapping so that means I have free time to watch something I want to watch!
Right now I’m trying to decide between (a) finishing The Best Hit (which MDL tells me I left off exactly halfway through) or (b) watching the entirety of Circle. I think I only have time to binge one or the other this week, so I have to make a choice.
Wahhhhhh, it’s hard because I adore The Best Hit but also I’ve been dying to see Circle since it first premiered. How am I gonna choose???
Gonna have some free time this week which makes me think “oooooh maybe I’ll finally finish one of the eleventy-bajillion shows I started last month” or “hmmmm I wonder what new shows have started!” because of course free time = drama watching time.
But lbr I’m probably never going to get caught up, which means I’ll have to avoid the internet for the rest of my life.
Unpopular Drama Opinions
Got tagged by @soymilkmocha
tbh I’m pretty sure most of my opinions on dramas are unpopular but here goes nuthin’
A popular drama that you didn’t like.
The low-hanging fruit that is Heirs
A popular drama that every one else seems to hate but you love.
Mmmm… I generally like what I like and ignore the haters which means I don’t typically keep a bead on the popular reaction to the show, but I remember feeling fighty in the Valid Love tag
A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with (spoiler alert) or a couple that you don’t like.
Ahhhh, I don’t watch dramas for the main love story and generally am not that emotionally invested in the main character romance even though I’m allllllll about the second characters (because I want the second lead to date me). I dunno. I’ll default to the easy answer: Heirs, because Eun Sang should’ve ended up with Bona.
A popular drama genre that you hardly reach for.
Heart-tugging tear-fest old-school melos
A popular or beloved character that you do not like.
Quick someone name me a popular character and I’ll figure out if I like them or not
A popular actor that you can’t seem to get into.
I feel like I always answer Kim Soo Hyun so just to change things up… Lee Jong Suk
A popular actress that you can’t seem to get into.
Moon Chae Won – I want to like her, but it just doesn’t seem to click
A popular drama trope that you’re tired of seeing. (examples: love triangles, evil mom, rich guy, etc.)
Is “wrist grab” a trope? Because it can die in a fire
A popular drama that you have no interest in watching.
DotS
A popular drama adaptation that you prefer more than the original version.
The Good Wife just because [SPOILER REDACTED]
w was actually really good! i just saw your post about dramas that are trendy but you have no plans to watch. after signal nothing i tried to pick up stuck, but w did. side note have you ever seen cruel city? it’s really amazing so far!!
I know W was good, but I’m still not going to watch it because I have other shows I’d rather spend my time on. The post was more me going “oh man I’m so out of touch with the drama community because somehow my tastes this year have been aligned to unpopular shows that not many are watching or talking about.”
side note have you ever seen cruel city? it’s really amazing so far!!

Hot’n’trendy dramas of this year that I have not watched and likely never will:
- Another Oh Hae Young
- Descendants of the Sun
- Uncontrollably Fond
- W
- Doctors
- Moonlight Drawn By Clouds
- Moon Lovers
Hot’n’trendy dramas of this year that I started and will never finish:
- Cheese in the Trap
Hot’n’trendy dramas of this year that I have started and have yet to finish, despite my best intentions:
- Six Flying Dragons
- Squad 38
Hot’n’trendy dramas of this year that I have actually watched through to completion and enjoyed:
- Signal
Dramas that did abysmally in the ratings this year and that I actually finished because I thought they were really good:
- Come Back Ahjussi
- Beautiful Mind
Dramas that I’m still angry were never picked up on either Viki or DF so they got no buzz from the international crowd despite being beyond excellent (yes I’m forever bitter):
- The Good Wife
*goes to MDL to figure out where she’s left off on her dramas*
“Oh, episode 6! That can’t be too bad, I shouldn’t be that far behind!”
*sees that the show will be airing eps 13 and 14 this week*
“…dammit…”
What are your favorite dramas involving magic, mystical beings and the like? ^_^
Apparently I don’t watch a lot of dramas that fit this genre because I was all gung-ho to answer, but could only come up with Arang and the Magistrate.
Wait, there’s also Surplus Princess (mermaids!).
I don’t know that I would list Padam, Padam as a favorite drama, but I adored Gooksoo.
Will you be watching SBS’ Wanted?
Maybe.
I downloaded the eps but just haven’t had a chance to check them out yet. It’s hard for me to find time to watch more than a couple of dramas at a time, and I’m already committed to Monster and in love with Squad 38, so that doesn’t leave too much space for another drama in my life right now.
