Oh, Duel. I was looking forward to that one. Specially since the actor look like Byun Yo Han. … I tried the first episode. But I couldn’t get past the idiot detective. OCN thrillers are not as dark or violent as I wanted then to be. They still have melodramatic aspect to them, and that’s not a good combo. The exception is Missing Noir M as it was darker and not melodramatic; excellent cases too. …. Re: Ci*cle, I dropped that at ep8 Hopefully, you’ll get to finish it

Mmmm, I’m not sure how Deuk-chun is an idiot. He’s a soft-hearted man who is desperate to find his only daughter – currently sick with leukemia – who was kidnapped and who he was afraid would be killed if the ransom wasn’t paid on time. Everyone seems pretty smart, actually, especially surrounding a sci-fi element that’s based in today’s world. But obviously ymmv.

Mystery/thrillers are best binge-watched, though, because you get to put together the puzzles without having to wait.

Dramas are probably always going to have a melodramatic element, though, because they aren’t straight procedurals like many American/European thrillers are. They have to have an overarching story somehow, and that’s predominately driven by characters going through a journey. Which is why I often prefer dramas to a lot of American shows.

Thank you for flooding my feed with BYH pics. He is one fine man. Out of your few celebrity crushes, this one I will fight you for it. You can have cheekbone oppa, hobaby, and Lee so yuk, but I will not give you this one easily. … I do miss him in dramaland. Do you have news of his whereabouts? Also, his IG account is still deactivated, correct?

He’s currently promoting his film A Day which premieres this week, but one of the interviews I skimmed earlier today says he’s planning to rest a bit and doesn’t currently have any new projects lined up. Since he’s been going non-stop the past couple of years, I can’t blame him for wanting a little break.

And yes, his IG was deleted and I haven’t found out if he’s made a new one. If he has, it’s locked-down and private.

I don’t think you’re being weird. The drama seems to be just it, a standard goofy rom-com. I am looking for more depth, but it’s nowhere to be found yet. … Park Bo Young is so lovable though, and hard to resist, that’s why I managed to finish episode 2.

Aw, thanks. But I know my tastes often go against the popular, which is just something I’ve learned to accept. Sometimes I feel like I must have grown a heart of stone since cute rom-coms no longer appeal like they used to.

I’m still a little confused why using her strength to get her job as a bodyguard for a rich entrepreneur chaebol skirted the self-seeking rule. Also as much as I like Hyungsik (and he’s one of my favorite idol actors!), I get the feeling he’s one of those actors I like best in supporting roles since my brain kinda tunes out during his scenes w/ PBY.

I’d totally watch whatever drama Ji Soo seems to think he’s starring in, though.

Noooooo!!! Not this one. Wait for two more episodes, please. Even though episode 9 sucked and 10 was saved by their performance, stay for one more week. 🙂 🙂

Sorry, I genuinely have no idea which drama you’re referring to (LotBS? Goblin? Those were my most recent drops and that’s more due to time constraints and being more interested in other shows to waste my time on)

I finished Hogu’s Love a few weeks ago, and I enjoyed that drama very well. I saw some of your posts about the drama, so I decided to try it. I’m glad I did. I enjoyed the adorableness of it. Thank you. Choi Woo Shik-ssi is LOVE. I was pleasantly surprised with Uee. I didn’t know she had that in her. Overall, I love the quirkiness of the drama, and the way they tackle sensitive issues. My only compliant was the ending for the gay/bi/straight character. Have a good night!!!

Yeah, the “oh whew he’s really a girl so I’m not gay after all!” was pretty disappointing, although I did enjoy the way the character explored the possibility as was willing to accept the answer before “the truth” was revealed.

My only other complaint would be the fact that the rapist gets away with it. *shakes fist at the patriarchy*

It’s one of those dramas that I never remember without prompting, but when I do, I realize how many good scenes and moments it had.

Woah, I guess CJ Entertainment and Dramafever ended their contract. Or that their upcoming dramas are not exclusive to Dramafever anymore. tvN’s Memory will now be subbed by Viki. It’s now on their upcoming page. Unfortunately, i still dont see Pied Piper there.

Actually, scratch my previous message. Pied Pioer is now licensed to Viki as well.

This is the best news to wake up to!

Pied Piper here and Memory here on Viki.

Subs may still be a little slow since Pied Piper doesn’t have a trendy actor/idol, and the subbing team would have to work to get caught up since four episodes have aired already. But at least there’s now even more hope!
