yeah… she isn’t dialing it down. if anything she slowly dials it up (or it feels like it, based on my increasingly annoyed attitude whenever she does something stupid). but then you can hit a plateau of annoyance, and it doesn’t annoy you anymore!!

I think I’ve sorta hit that plateau, even though I’m like “STOP OVERREACTING ALREADY” most of the time. It seems like whatever changes wrought during her late-bloom of puberty also made her totally freak out at the slightest thing. Enough dropping to the ground and hiding behind desks! If you’re going to make a fool of yourself, own it! Although I do think the shrieking is subsiding a little bit. Or, as you say, I am becoming immune.

I only watched eps 1&2 so far and then read some recaps, but this role seems to be “OK cast Siwon as his most .gif-ed self”

He is hilarious and delightful and also an excellent character. He is weird but he owns it and doesn’t care what other people think. Doesn’t hurt that he’s super-handsome and charming. I’m loving watching him gradually see what a beautiful person Hwang Jung Eum’s character is (she may be annoying in her flailing shrieking, but at least she’s got a good heart!). I would have no complaints about going against the Dramaland grain and having the second lead pair up with the lead at the end, because I like our two separate couples together. At least, so far.

I mean, I know the whole “lying about who you really are” is gonna come back and bite her roommate but she’s so happy around Park Seo Joon – it’s really sweet. But I hope a boy doesn’t destroy their friendship because he’s not worth it – no boy is worth it, not when you’re friends like that! And I’m a little sad that the roomie hasn’t opened up to Hwang Jung Eum about why she’s been enjoying the attention from Park Seo Joon, because even if it hurt a bit, she’s a good enough friend to understand. I think they could work through it. But of course what kind of drama would we have if everyone was honest up front?

I’m just glad Siwon is living up to my expectations (after King of Dramas) because he was born to play comedic characters. I want more of him on my screen, tbh. He brings life (and depth, oddly enough) to this little show.

Not sure what episode you’re on, but her over dramatic ways don’t die down till she get’s her makeover.

Ep 5! And I’ve heard about her makeover, which makes me grit my teeth in general because of course she has to have a makeover since she’s “ugly” (which, wtf Dramaland, having curly hair and no makeup on doesn’t make someone ugly, but that’s a rant for another day). I just hope she keeps her spirit – as annoying as it may be for me to watch – because forget that if she’s getting a makeover and changing her personality to fit in.
