toquegirl replied to your video: Here’s Feeldog’s stage – he got 159 points to…
I wasn’t sure what to expect from him, but I loved his mix of genres and overall style!! Although Hoya was the one to win my heart XD The ladies were rocking it- this theme, more than “devils”, had me hooked into every performance^^ What did you think of last week?
I liked last week! It definitely felt “cuter” than this week. U-kwon’s puppy/kitty stage was adorable and I enjoyed Ten’s jive (plus I’m a fan a Penatonix, so yay for using their version!). Ten’s stage wasn’t as in sync as I’d like, though, as fun as it was. Chung Ha’s was good, too, although I think I had more respect for the choreographer than the dancing. Not that the dancing was bad! I just noticed the choreo more than the performance itself, if that makes sense.
As for Hyunseung. It started out well and I think I liked the concept, but the dance itself didn’t work for me (but at least he kept his hoode up to hide whatever that monstrostity he’s got growing on top of his head). I felt like it tried too hard to be “sexy” but it just didn’t connect with me.
(Unlike Hoya’s stage, which was definitely sexy, but also incredibly beautiful and moving. So I’m glad he won!)
I think the best performances were this week, though, and this week was probably the best week of performances since the beginning. I’m kinda bummed that the guys are overshadowing the ladies right now (well, the “official” contestant guys because all their female crew dancers have been stealing the show).
Hyoyeon is a great dancer but for some reason her stages just haven’t really connected for me. Her first stage felt so cluttered with her backup dancers and I didn’t feel like she was showcased enough. And this week it was… I don’t know… I guess I’m expecting something a little more elevated from a professional dancer wanting to show off, if that makes sense.
But I loved Momo’s stage – the aesthetic and the “story” and everything. I like it much more than her first stage. I also adored Bora’s stage in the first episode – it’s still one of my faves and I think it deserved a higher score.
Honestly, the “Devils” performances were entertaining but they disappointed me a little because I’d hoped this show would focus on the dancing and giving the idols to explore different styles of dance that they don’t normally do, but a lot of it felt still very performance based. This time, though, I felt like the dance was more important than merely puttingon a good show. So I’m happy and looking forward to next week!
