Steeling myself ‘cause I’m gonna finish Manhole. Because I can. Because i’m so close to the end.

And because there still flickers a small flame of hope that there will be some character growth thanks to the manic magic manhole (or at least dumb time-traveling shenanigans that have been disappointingly missing for episodes).

I did not sign up for some knock-off Lifetime movie about a creepy psycho predator and his obsession with a woman, and the deadbeat who thinks his sole mission in life is to save said woman from the psycho predator only so he can have her for himself.

Squad 38 would be just another fun OCN crime drama but Ma Dong Seok grounds it, making it a relatable human drama, too. I know many are gonna be watching it for SIG but honestly if it was just about him there wouldn’t be enough substance and I’d wager it’d be the kind of show I’d half tune into just to enjoy the ride. But instead I’m rapt, desperate to know how the downtrodden Everyman Baek Sung Il will be able to fight the corrupt tides that crash against him.
