Some parks dept guys set up lures in a triangle of three Pokestops that are about twenty paces from each other. There were probably about twenty of us lounging under whatever nearby shaded tree we could find, occasionally venturing out to get more poke balls at the poke stop that we weren’t closest to and sometimes to catch something that didn’t wander into our radius.
I was there maybe twenty minutes, tops, and easily caught twenty Pokemons that WEREN’T Pidgeys (probably could have caught twenty of those if I wanted, though). Also I saw at least two dozen people walking/skating/biking by suddenly slow down and hang out for a few minutes once they realized the lure fest we had going on. Lots of cute dogs patiently waiting for their masters to stop staring at their phone and continue to walk.
When was the last time I went to the park? Um… *draws a blank*
Yet now I’m like YES LET’S GO TO THE PARK EVERY DAY there are so many Pokestops and so many people putting up lures (I saw at least three more but didn’t have time to hang out). Yes, I’m one of those “hey this game is been good for me because it gets me out of the house where my social anxious self prefers to stay” kind of folk.
Oh, and I joined Team Mystic for the shallow reason that I think Arcticuno is the prettiest.
