Some randomness to tell you about my day:
LP and I got in to a discussion about how to refer to Oh Yeon Seo’s character in CBA. She’s all for continuing to call her Gi Tak and use male pronouns which made me sputter a bit, until I realized that the first couple of episodes do, indeed, make a point that this is a man stuck in a women’s body. She hadn’t reached the ep where Gi Tak gives herself a name (and I didn’t realize it was that far into the drama), so she didn’t understand my sputtering that Hong Nan is very much her own person, despite being possessed(?) by the spirit of a dude. Plus a lot of the humor (and important moments) are based on the fact that Gi Tak is now presented as a woman. Like, super super important.
So I think we’re in agreement now but there were floods of texts and I apologize if the names/etc. seem a bit disjointed when she hands it off since we’re working on it at the same time to try and get caught up. (yes, hint hint, expect to see some well-deserved love for this show soon!)
Although it’s gonna be a nightmare figuring out to refer to everyone in the first place, tbh, just to make it clear on paper. Challenge accepted, though!
