Unknown Dress – “Still Ist Die Nacht (The Night is Still)” (Pied Piper OST)

My latest English-language bed-time show (or zone-out show or whatever show when I don’t want to expend brain power translating) is The Good Wife, which I am watching expressly because I’m curious about the upcoming remake (JUNG DO YEON and Yoo Ji Tae, y’all). Also because I know it has Alan Cumming in it.

I typically don’t watch legal shows. I like criminal shows and I like procedurals, but lawyer shows? Eh, forget it.

However, I’m surprised to realize I’m actually really enjoying it, courtroom scenes and all. Mostly because the ladies are awesome. All of them. I think I might have a crush on Kalinda (then again, who on this show doesn’t have a crush on her?), and now I’m a little worried about how her character will be adapted for the Korean audience. I know it’s going to be on tvN, but I think even cable networks would be hesitant to have a main character who’s bisexual.

I was also surprised that Logan Huntzberger is in it, too. Yeah, I know that’s not his name, but that’s all I really see when he’s on screen, so I’ve just been calling his character “Lawyer Logan.” My Gilmore Girls headcanon can totally accept that Logan went to law school.

Also I find that the husband part of the equation isn’t all that sympathetic to me, and while I think Yoo Ji Tae would do a good job with that role, I’m hoping the magic of dramas will make him more likable because it’s Yoo Ji Tae y’all.

Re: #2 — they don’t “take out” a soul, they create an entire new body. it’s like creating a SIMS character. Which, of course, will cause problems later when that new body is revealed to identical to an actual living body because that’s a big no-no.

You don’t know this, but I’ve been having a conversation with your ask all week. It went something like this:

Me: OD, I’m glad there is no body snatching! That’s important to me!
Me: OD, I’m concerned Maya has the ability to disappear a plane. There are a lot of people she’s putting in danger.
Me: Oh, she didn’t disappear a plane, OD, she just made it land in Tokyo. That’s mostly okay then.
Me: Wait, did she just blip out a drunk pilot, so she could stick Lee Hae-Joon on his own island?
Me: OD, did Maya just sneakily give Young-Soo and Gi-Tak hints?
Me: DID MAYA JUST HIDE HER SNEAKING FROM GOD?
Me: JUST HOW POWERFUL IS MAYA, OD?

It’s been quite the conversation. I thought I should share it with you.

Ha, cute!

Yeah, Maya has powers, but also there seem to be… rules? …or something. Which is why I’m trying to not get to invested (hahaha who are we kidding I’m deeply invested) since I know Hong Nan and Hae Joon will disappear, since I’m not sure how they can get past the whole dead thing. Because it’s clear that their true selves are very much dead.

Then again I love that she’s like an office worker just waiting for them to get their mission over with already so she can go on her vacation.
